High Country Studio was started in 1988 by Judy and Larry Koss. As the business evolved it was one of the first companies in Western Canada to specialize in rustic barnwood and architectural salvage furniture. Our one of a kind pieces have been in woodworking exhibitions and shows throughout the Pacific Northwest. Our clients can be found in North America, Europe and Australia.

In making our furniture a subframe of eastern white pine is first constructed. The subframe provides strength and a solid frame work to attach the weathered wood. All corners are beveled and all cut edges are trimmed, so the finished piece has the look of old furniture. When complete, the double construction process provides for a solid durable lifetime lasting piece of furniture. The outside has the look of old and the inside is new wood.
